The 1Protect Gloves are perfect for riders who value protection but dislike bulky or unfashionable gear. These gloves offer a stylish, sleek, and slim design while delivering the necessary safety.
1Protect Gloves address a common injury risk for Onewheel and EUC riders: abrasions and lacerations to the palms and wrists. Many riders underestimate the importance of wearing gloves, but these gloves provide a solution that balances comfort and protection effectively.
Designed with removable palm pucks, these gloves mimic the palm sliders seen in motorcycle gloves. The palm pucks help distribute impact forces and enable hand sliding during falls, which significantly reduces the likelihood of fractures and the infamous “hamburger hands” injuries. “Hamburger hands” refers to severe hand abrasions that resemble torn flesh.
These gloves are an affordable alternative to other options on the market. While they offer essential protection, they cost less than some popular gloves like the Flatland 3d. The 1Protect Gloves stand out for their lightweight, comfortable, and stylish design, making them a practical choice for riders who want both safety and style.
One key feature is the snug fit without feeling constricting. The gloves offer ample ventilation, preventing sweaty hands during rides. It’s crucial to note that these gloves are not wrist guards but are designed to protect your palms and reduce wrist torque during forward falls.
The package includes a mesh carry bag, hard palm pucks, and soft palm pucks, allowing riders to select their preferred level of protection. For those who prefer not to wear protective gloves, the 1Protect Gloves provide a reliable and stylish alternative to ensure their safety during rides.
The primary drawback observed is the potential for losing the soft pucks after several months of use. Additionally, fastening both velcro straps with one hand can be tricky due to the straps flopping around. However, users can quickly adapt to this once they become accustomed to the process.
In conclusion, the 1Protect Gloves are an excellent choice for riders who prioritize protection and style, offering a budget-friendly option for safeguarding their hands and wrists during Onewheel and EUC adventures.
