The Gotway RS electric unicycle is an excellent choice for riders seeking an upgrade from their older Gotway models, such as the MSX or MSP, or for anyone looking for a versatile EUC capable of various riding scenarios. However, riders should be aware of the reduced pedal height in the RS, which may not be suitable for those who ride technical trails.

The Gotway RS has undergone substantial improvements, offering a smooth ride courtesy of its new hollow bore motor. The adoption of this technology enhances power delivery and efficiency by eliminating the restrictions of a smaller axle. It comes in two versions, speed and torque, with both featuring the 2600W hollow bore motor. The speed version is ideal for those who prioritize high speeds (up to 40 mph), while the torque model is more suitable for off-road and hill climbing, offering extra power.

The Gotway RS provides a strong performance, with exceptional acceleration and decent braking capabilities. It does experience pedal dip but less than other models. The LED strip lights significantly enhance visibility, although the headlights may be excessively bright for oncoming traffic. The fender attachment method has been improved, but it remains susceptible to accidental dislodgment.

However, the RS has a lower pedal height, which may hinder technical trail riding. The increased girth of the wheel’s body is to accommodate the new hollow motor and pedal hangers, although it may affect rider comfort.

In summary, the Gotway RS is a substantial improvement in the EUC market, providing riders with a smoother and more powerful experience. Riders should choose between the speed and torque models based on their preferences. The speed version excels on the streets, while the torque model is ideal for off-road and hill climbing.

Know this before buying a Veteran Sherman Electric Unicycle https://oneradwheel.com/know-this-before-buying-a-veteran-sherman-electric-unicycle/ https://oneradwheel.com/know-this-before-buying-a-veteran-sherman-electric-unicycle/#comments Sun, 02 Aug 2020 03:11:54 +0000 https://oneradwheel.com/?p=1666 We’ve moved! Check out our FULL article here. Summary below.

The Veteran Sherman electric unicycle is a remarkable option for riders seeking speed and range on the streets. It boasts impressive specs, making it the fastest EUC available with a 45 mph max speed, thanks to its powerful 2500 W motor and a massive 3200 Wh battery, providing an unmatched range of 128 miles. The 20″ wheel, steel roll cage body, and utilitarian design emphasize its robust construction, making it the perfect choice for street riding. Notable features include a bright headlight, taillight with turn signaling, dual charging ports, a retractable trolley handle, and long foot pedals.

Riders will appreciate the easy access on-board control panel display, eliminating the need for an additional app. The Veteran Sherman’s power and speed are ideal for accelerating quickly and safely navigating traffic. Beyond sheer top speed, this EUC’s capability to accelerate rapidly is a significant safety advantage.

However, it is essential to note some of its drawbacks. The Sherman is produced by a new company, which raises concerns about long-term support. Its considerable weight, at 77 lbs, may limit practicality for technical and trail riding, and the long pedals can scrape during aggressive turns. Additionally, the low roll cage clearance can be problematic when encountering curbs or obstacles.

An absence of a spin kill button and a complex internal engineering design make tire changes challenging, and a fuse box is included for internal component protection.

In summary, the Veteran Sherman stands out as a powerful and high-range electric unicycle, well-suited for experienced street riders. Its drawbacks are mainly related to its weight and complexity, making it less suitable for beginners and technical riding. While it is not without its imperfections, it presents an exciting option for EUC enthusiasts seeking speed and long-distance capabilities. KingSong S18 vs InMotion V11 https://oneradwheel.com/kingsong-s18-vs-inmotion-v11/ https://oneradwheel.com/kingsong-s18-vs-inmotion-v11/#comments Tue, 28 Jul 2020 22:31:00 +0000 https://oneradwheel.com/?p=1106 We’ve moved! Check out our FULL article here. Summary below.

Recently, InMotion and KingSong unveiled electric unicycles (EUCs) featuring innovative suspension systems, marking an evolution in the EUC market. InMotion introduced the V11, while KingSong unveiled the S18. These two offerings cater to different EUC enthusiasts.

The KingSong S18 is tailored for sporty EUC aficionados who desire an exceptional suspension system along with an attractive design. It excels off-road and boasts a bright headlight. However, it lacks speakers, and its body may be fragile. Additionally, the trolley handle adds an extra step, and the top speed of 31 mph with a 45-mile range might not suffice for some riders.

Conversely, the InMotion V11 is a versatile EUC designed for a comfortable and smooth ride, prioritizing comfort and ride quality over extreme tricks or high speeds. Notable features include an excellent suspension system, a high-quality headlight, sturdy trolley handle, and an innovative kickstand. Yet, it lacks speakers, and suspension adjustments can be cumbersome.

Both EUCs incorporate suspension technology, reflecting a shift in focus from pure speed and range to enhancing the riding experience. These features, though exciting, have led to some trade-offs in terms of weight, speed, and speaker inclusion.

While both models feature suspension, they differ in design. The InMotion V11 sports a traditional look, while the KingSong S18 showcases its suspension system prominently.

The emergence of these EUCs with suspension underscores the healthy competition driving innovation in the industry. Their distinct designs and features offer exciting options for EUC enthusiasts. Notably, the kickstand on the KingSong S18 could enhance the EUC’s appeal for social media posts.

The EUC market is evolving with more suspension-equipped wheels on the horizon, such as the Gotway EX. These developments demonstrate the industry’s dedication to enhancing the riding experience and providing more choices for EUC riders.

For further information and reviews on these innovative EUCs, refer to the provided links.

King Song S18 Electric Unicycle Review https://oneradwheel.com/king-song-s18-electric-unicycle-review/ https://oneradwheel.com/king-song-s18-electric-unicycle-review/#comments Wed, 22 Jul 2020 06:26:51 +0000 https://oneradwheel.com/?p=1632 We’ve moved! Check out our FULL article here. Summary below.

The King Song S18, an Electric Unicycle (EUC), is a top choice for EUC enthusiasts seeking a sporty, visually appealing ride with an impressive suspension system. Its sleek design and open structure expose the suspension, setting it apart from the competition. The suspension, adjustable for various riding conditions, ensures a comfortable and smooth journey, while the bright headlight significantly improves visibility.

However, the S18 sacrifices some features for its design, lacking speakers and sidelights, and featuring a smaller battery. The retractable handle, although stylish, requires an extra step for usability.

The S18’s ride quality is excellent, with the suspension system offering a buttery-smooth experience, particularly on uneven terrains. The contoured sides of the EUC provide leverage and control for riders, making it ideal for jumping. It accelerates smoothly with a top speed of 31 mph, but throttling occurs as the battery depletes, potentially limiting range.

Despite its captivating looks, the S18 has some flaws to consider. The modular panels, while aesthetically pleasing, can come loose easily, and the hard plastic is prone to cracking. This fragility could be an issue for off-road enthusiasts who expect durability. Additionally, the S18’s battery size and top speed may not suit long-distance or high-speed riders.

In summary, the King Song S18 appeals to riders comfortable with its advertised 45-mile range and 31 mph top speed. It’s a fun, sporty EUC with stunning aesthetics, and the suspension enhances off-road capabilities. However, its durability and speed may not meet the expectations of all riders. Comprehensive InMotion V11 Review https://oneradwheel.com/comprehensive-inmotion-v11-review/ https://oneradwheel.com/comprehensive-inmotion-v11-review/#comments Fri, 17 Jul 2020 14:38:58 +0000 https://oneradwheel.com/?p=1616 We’ve moved! Check out our FULL article here. Summary below.

My Review of the InMotion V11: A Smooth Cruise with Suspension

I recently got my hands on the InMotion V11 and, as someone who was initially skeptical about EUC suspension systems, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this electric unicycle. The V11 excels in providing a smooth and comfortable ride, making it an ideal choice for those who prioritize ride quality.

The pros of the InMotion V11 include its innovative suspension system, impressive headlight, sturdy trolley handle, smooth motor power, unique kickstand, functional mud guard, and durable carbon fiber finish. The suspension stands out as the key feature, offering a substantial improvement in ride comfort, particularly on uneven terrains. It’s a game-changer for those with knee or back issues, allowing for longer and more comfortable rides.

The headlight on the V11 is nothing short of outstanding, providing excellent visibility during nighttime journeys. The trolley handle is robust and practical, simplifying transportation when not riding. The powerful motor delivers a seamless and enjoyable riding experience, while the kickstand adds a convenient touch, allowing the EUC to stand on its own. The mud guard not only enhances the EUC’s appearance but also serves its purpose effectively. The carbon fiber finish adds durability and scratch resistance, giving the V11 a sophisticated look.

However, the V11 is not without its downsides. Some potential drawbacks include issues with the saddle attachment, the absence of built-in speakers, a loud fan in the headlight, complicated suspension adjustments, easily lost suspension valve caps, and the need for additional side pads to improve leverage due to the EUC’s flat sides.

Despite these minor drawbacks, I’ve come to appreciate the benefits of suspension systems for EUCs. The comfort and smoothness of the V11’s ride are undeniable, especially on rough surfaces. While it may not cater to extreme riders or speed enthusiasts, the V11’s overall versatility and ride quality make it an attractive choice for those who prioritize comfort and enjoy leisurely cruising.

I was initially hesitant about the trade-offs that suspension systems might bring, but the V11’s excellent performance has turned me into a suspension system believer. For riders seeking a comfortable and smooth cruising experience, the InMotion V11 is a commendable choice, well-suited for everyday commutes and enjoyable rides.

2020 Review of the King Song 14D Electric Unicycle https://oneradwheel.com/2020-review-of-the-king-song-14d-electric-unicycle/ Sun, 05 Jul 2020 17:59:39 +0000 https://oneradwheel.com/?p=1519 We’ve moved! Check out our FULL article here. Summary below.

The King Song 14D is ideal for students, commuters, and beginners searching for a dependable last-mile solution, offering a blend of portability, mobility, and value in an electric unicycle. It’s especially suitable for young riders looking for a lightweight option with a built-in trolley handle.

In a world where faster and longer-range electric unicycles are increasingly emphasized, the King Song 14D caters to those who prioritize portability and ease of use over speed. Its lightweight 30 lb design makes it perfect for commuters and city dwellers, ensuring hassle-free transport even up and down stairs.

Compared to larger and heavier electric unicycles, the King Song 14D’s smaller 14-inch wheel provides a nimble and agile ride. Safety is a priority, with a maximum speed of approximately 18 miles per hour and speed reduction below 50% battery capacity to enhance rider security.

While the nimble Gotway Mten3, which has a 10-inch wheel, is also fun, the King Song 14D excels in several aspects, including handling potholes and curbs, having a built-in trolley handle, offering decent speakers, and featuring a convenient kill switch in the handle.

Understanding its target audience and usage, the King Song 14D’s few flaws become less significant. The pedals’ size limits maneuverability during tight turns, and the glossy finish can reveal scratches and dust more prominently. The headlight is serviceable, but additional lighting is advisable for nighttime rides. The official King Song EUC app can be cumbersome, and heavier riders may find the 14D less suitable for prolonged hill climbs, in which case an upgrade to a 14S or a 16-inch wheel is recommended.

In summary, the King Song 14D offers excellent value, making it a solid choice for students and commuters seeking a reliable and practical electric unicycle. More details can be found at ewheels, with purchases through provided links supporting the content creator’s YouTube channel and website.

King Song 16S after 1 Year Reviewed & Compared to InMotion V10 and KS16X https://oneradwheel.com/king-song-16s-after-1-year-reviewed-compared-to-inmotion-v10-and-ks16x/ https://oneradwheel.com/king-song-16s-after-1-year-reviewed-compared-to-inmotion-v10-and-ks16x/#comments Fri, 01 May 2020 04:58:55 +0000 https://oneradwheel.com/?p=1269 We’ve moved! King Song 16S Electric Unicycle: A Versatile Ride for Beginners and Beyond

Who Will Love This:

The King Song 16S is a perfect fit for those new to intermediate riders in search of a sturdy, dependable, and smooth electric unicycle. It delivers ample power and impressive range, making it an ideal choice for riders at various skill levels.

My Thoughts:

Choosing your inaugural electric unicycle (EUC) is a decision that demands careful consideration. After extensive research, I opted for the King Song 16S as my first EUC, and with over a year of experience, I couldn’t be happier with that choice.

The King Song 16S proved resilient through my learning phase, as well as during my endeavors to introduce EUC riding to my children and friends. Despite enduring numerous falls while learning, the 16S’s shell remains intact, showing only minor scuffs on the padding. It has proven remarkably durable.

The KS16S makes for an excellent learning wheel thanks to its responsiveness, durability, and manageable size and weight. Its more compact form simplifies tasks like navigating stairs and fitting it into car trunks.

While it excels as a learning EUC, this wheel remains an attractive option for experienced riders. If your cruising speed typically exceeds 20 mph with a range requirement of 20-30+ miles, the KS16S can certainly meet your needs.

I’ve taken my KS16S off-road and even traversed the highest paved road in North America without a hitch. Its retractable trolley handle design is notably stable, and the built-in speakers offer adequate audio performance, both for playing music and providing speed alerts.

The King Song 16S is slightly pricier than its main competitor, the Inmotion V10, another exceptional intermediate EUC.

Flaws:

One issue I’ve encountered is that all King Song wheels come factory-locked, intended as a safety feature to prevent accidental activation. The problem arises with the King Song app, which is often seen as subpar and overly intrusive, demanding excessive personal information. To circumvent this, I recommend using third-party apps like Darkness Bot for iPhone and EUC World for Android, which allow you to unlock your King Song EUC.

Another notable flaw is the high-pitched motor buzz, which can be bothersome. This issue seems resolvable through a firmware update, and newer models from the factory may be free from this sound.

Conclusion:

My King Song 16S remains a favorite among my family, particularly my eldest son and daughter, who find it less intimidating and more manageable compared to my larger Gotway Nikola. The nimble feel of the 16S and its durability make it an excellent choice for teaching others how to ride.

If you’re considering the King Song 16S, I recommend checking out eWheels, where I source all my EUCs.
