Quik App: A Super Easy Way to Edit and Create Videos

We’ve moved! Check out our FULL article here. Summary below.

Quik, a GoPro app, simplifies video editing and movie creation. Initially, I hesitated to use it, preferring more control over my video editing. However, for times when I have an abundance of footage but lack the time or energy to manually edit, Quik is a fantastic tool. It employs algorithms to automatically create impressive videos.

During a school district event called the “Cardboard Challenge,” I captured video and photo footage using my Samsung S9 phone as I didn’t have my GoPro with me, though I did have my Onewheel.

The following day, while assembling the footage on my computer, I was drained after a two-hour process involving transferring files, sorting clips, photos, editing, and adding music. Then, I stumbled upon the Quik app on my phone and discovered it had created a video using the footage I had taken in the past 24 hours. I found it quite impressive.

After some adjustments to settings, music, and content removal, I spent around 30 minutes on my phone to create a short video that I considered quite good.

Quik is an impressive app. While it won’t replace the more comprehensive video editing process on a computer for enthusiasts, it’s perfect for quickly creating and sharing videos. Notably, it works with footage from various sources, not just GoPro. You can find the app in the Apple App Store or Android Play Store. Give it a try!
