Review: Gotway RS19 EUC (High Speed Version)

We’ve moved! Check out our FULL article here. Summary below.

The Gotway RS electric unicycle is an excellent choice for riders seeking an upgrade from their older Gotway models, such as the MSX or MSP, or for anyone looking for a versatile EUC capable of various riding scenarios. However, riders should be aware of the reduced pedal height in the RS, which may not be suitable for those who ride technical trails.

The Gotway RS has undergone substantial improvements, offering a smooth ride courtesy of its new hollow bore motor. The adoption of this technology enhances power delivery and efficiency by eliminating the restrictions of a smaller axle. It comes in two versions, speed and torque, with both featuring the 2600W hollow bore motor. The speed version is ideal for those who prioritize high speeds (up to 40 mph), while the torque model is more suitable for off-road and hill climbing, offering extra power.

The Gotway RS provides a strong performance, with exceptional acceleration and decent braking capabilities. It does experience pedal dip but less than other models. The LED strip lights significantly enhance visibility, although the headlights may be excessively bright for oncoming traffic. The fender attachment method has been improved, but it remains susceptible to accidental dislodgment.

However, the RS has a lower pedal height, which may hinder technical trail riding. The increased girth of the wheel’s body is to accommodate the new hollow motor and pedal hangers, although it may affect rider comfort.

In summary, the Gotway RS is a substantial improvement in the EUC market, providing riders with a smoother and more powerful experience. Riders should choose between the speed and torque models based on their preferences. The speed version excels on the streets, while the torque model is ideal for off-road and hill climbing.
